Most Sunday evenings, as the sun starts to set over Siesta Key Beach, a drum circle forms near the main pavilion — dozens of drummers, dancers, and onlookers gathering informally as the sky turns gold and then pink over the Gulf.
It’s completely free and one of the most genuinely joyful things happening in Sarasota on any given weekend. Arrive an hour or so before sunset to find a good spot on the sand and watch the crowd build as drummers arrive.
You don’t need to participate to enjoy it — plenty of people just watch, dance a little, or picnic on the sand. Afterward, Siesta Key Village is right there for dinner or a drink. From Magnolia House, it’s an easy evening out — no reservations, no dress code, just good timing and a spot on the sand.
